Integrate Your HPE NonStop Servers with SailPoint Identity Governance Webinar Replay

Whether you need to provision users on one or multiple HPE NonStop servers, XYGATE Identity Connector (XIC) elegantly integrates your NonStop servers with your SailPoint enterprise solution.

Achieve user governance, provisioning and reconciliation of HPE NonStop user accounts directly from SailPoint.

Ensuring employees have the correct access to the right business applications and IT resources is a critical requirement with which many companies struggle.  Current solutions for requesting and managing user access are inefficient, manual, complex, and outdated. Governance is often an afterthought, leaving enterprises vulnerable to security risks and exposed to compliance issues.

Many organizations are adopting solutions like SailPoint to manage their technology assets. SailPoint, the market leader in Identity Governance and Administration, allows businesses to automate an ever-growing technology landscape while addressing security and compliance risk.

XYPRO and SailPoint have partnered to provide the first and only SailPoint certified integration for HPE NonStop servers. XIC for SailPoint provides complete control over who has access to your NonStop servers from your enterprise SailPoint instance.

Join us at TBC 2020!

Whilst we will miss the opportunity of meeting up with partners, peers and clients in Burlingame this year, we’re very excited about the virtual nature of this year’s event, through which we hope will bring together many new people who may not have had the privilege of attending the annual conference. If you haven’t been to TBC, it’s absolutely our most anticipated event in the NonStop calendar.

As a Platinum sponsor, we will be running multiple demonstrations across our NonStop product portfolio.

In a world that transitions from static timetables on single platforms. to flexible scheduling of complex business processes across multiple applications and platforms, Insider Technologies provides the following presentations to demonstrate how you can manage workflows, perform monitoring of your business critical services, and ensure your payments systems are meeting customer demands:

·        Dave Hall will present a look at the modernised MultiBatch - mission critical workload automation for NonStop.

·        Karl Todd will take a deep dive into one of the more overlooked facilities within Reflex, it’s end to end service monitoring functionality that gives busy IT Managers the rarest of mental states: peace of mind.

·        Mark Thomasson looks at the unprecedented rise in payments and shows how RTLX is helping payment processors to increase customer satisfaction at the same time as providing compliance to local regulatory bodies.

Here’s a brief overview of our presentations, presenters and where to catch them. We can’t wait to see you there!

New MultiBatch User Interface – David Hall, Product Owner @ Vendor Theatre

Insider Technologies uses LegaSuite from Rocket to leverage existing MultiBatch screens to deliver a modern HTML5 browser interface.

In a fraction of the time it takes build a new interface from scratch, we can provide a vastly improved user experience with the ability of using external APIs and JavaScript libraries.

We show you how we modernised and enhanced the MultiBatch 6530 SCOBOL interface using LegaSuite Workbench, providing an overview of the process and concepts and demonstrating the new interface.

Reflex End to End Service Monitoring – Karl Todd, Product Owner @ Virtual Booth

Reflex can monitor a bespoke service view of your business consisting of disparate components which, when used in tandem, form your critical functionality. This provides a complete picture of your service monitoring components such as your applications, queues, transactions, databases, including the associated NonStop infrastructure.

Other benefits include:

Utilise service monitor to highlight threats to your critical services, e.g. SLA warnings and outages

Use Reflex automation to resolve problems

View the current state of all components that constitute your service

Real Time Transaction Monitoring – Mark Thomasson, Product Manager @ Virtual Booth

RTLX is the real-time monitoring, query and dashboard solution for your payments estate, including BASE24 ATM/POS and NCR Authentic applications.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is now an increasing demand for card transactions. We will show you how this led to the importance of storing transactions in real-time and being able to query any issues for transactions that have just taken place, or for transactions that have taken place over the last 15 years. This real-time and legacy transactional information is always accessible via RTLX and can be made available to other areas of your organisation.

6 Cybersecurity Tips for Working with Software Vendors

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! As Manager of XYPRO Customer Support, I’ve put together these six tips for businesses working with an external software vendor. Be conscious of protecting your corporate data and network and work with your vendors to ensure your confidential data and network are protected against external threats.

  1. Never use personal email to report an issueUsing a personal email address to report a technical problem can put your organization at risk and cause data privacy concerns. If your personal email has ever been compromised and a malicious user has access to your email, they will be able to read all the communications between you and your vendor. Also, be aware of the vendor support staff sending emails from their personal email accounts. A legitimate vendor should never use their personal email accounts to handle customer data.

2. Submit troubleshooting data in a password protected file. When submitting data and logs to your vendor for troubleshooting, be sure to use a compressed file that is password protected. As your vendor, XYPRO supplies an Enterprise Support Tool that collects information and packages it into a single, password protected file for you to send to us. Remember, send passwords in a separate email or via another secure channel of communication.

3. Don’t copy and paste vital information into the email body. In my 14 years managing customer support, I’ve received support emails that contained all sorts of confidential corporate information and PII (personal identifying information). When reporting an issue, treat all information as confidential. To protect our clients, XYPRO registered customers upload files directly to the XYPRO website via an encrypted channel.

TRIBUTARY SYSTEMS WILL BE ATTENDING THE 2020 NONSTOP BOOTCAMP, VISIT OUR VIRTUAL BOOTH………….

We’re about a month away from the very first NonStop Virtual Bootcamp.  Of course Tributary Systems will be participating in the Bootcamp, as we do every year. NonStop is an important market segment for us, we’ve been supporting NonStop as an OEM supplier and Backup/Restore hardware and software vendor for the last quarter of a century. So what can virtual visitors expect in our virtual booth?

They’ll be all kinds of specific information on Tributary Systems’ Storage Director, the lowest cost NonStop backup solution on the market with on-premise and Cloud Tiering capabilities.

Materials in the booth will include NonStop focused PowerPoint presentations, Storage Director product datasheets, a CIO Review article featuring TSI’s CEO, Shawn Sabanayagam.

And just announced, Tributary can now provide NonStop Backup Storage as a Service!

In addition, we’ve scheduled a 30 minute live talk on November 17th, at 11:45 AM PST on US Track2 where we’ll discuss the extraordinary feature set and multiple advantages Storage Director brings to the NonStop Backup environment. Plus Tributary Systems’ staff will man the virtual booth, ready to answer any questions attendees may have about TSI or our products.

So as you prepare for the Virtual Bootcamp, ask yourself this question:

Wouldn’t any NonStop customer appreciate saving 40% or more in data backup and archive costs while simultaneously increasing data security, availability and backup/restore performance? Well visit our booth and attend our live presentation to find out how this is possible.

In the meantime, review this list of key features TSI’s Storage Director brings to the NonStop Storage Environment:

Provides fully automated backup, restore and DR operations

Replaces Dell EMC Data Domain, IBM ProtecTier and all other dedup backup appliances

Intelligently scales storage locally and into the cloud (AWS, Google, Azure) or any object storage cloud

Provides a customized high performance front-end to IBM Cloud Object Storage (Cleversafe) and Hitachi HCP object storage

Incorporates AES 256 bit encryption and enhanced security

Incorporates built-in data reduction, WAN optimization and latency reduction

Meets or exceeds data backup requirements for speed, capacity, compatibility and reliability

Scales seamlessly by adding nodes to meet performance requirements and add cache for multiple petabytes of storage

Enables alternate site disaster recovery schemes

User-defined policies allow flexible tape, disk, flash, cloud and data migration strategies

Supports heterogeneous, multi-platform server environments on a single Storage Director backup appliance

Customized configurations for higher availability and specific customer needs

Supports tape library consolidation, modernization and replacement

Recall that Tributary Systems has been a HPE NonStop OEM solutions supplier and partner for over two decades; we know NonStop and understand NonStop customer requirements.

Pay by Palm

A certain company by the name of Amazon are aiming to simplify in-store payments yet further. Their recent announcement of "Pay by Palm" is not a reference to any HPE hand-held device but a recognition that payments are about to become even simpler with a mere gesture of the hand over an innovative contactless device.

The other benefit for amazon is the ability to combine payment and loyalty in their own back-end systems, again relieving the consumer from having to present a second card as part of the transaction.

Amazon of course is one of world’s leading suppliers of cloud-based services infrastructure, but not the only one of importance - there are others.

OmniPayments own private cloud payment service “OmniCloudX” is also growing in popularity.  We are seeing an increasing number of users decide to deploy on our OmniCloudX service.  The question filtering through your head may be WHY? We see a number of drivers for this.  Some institutions have existing hardware infrastructure reaching end of life, and are facing substantial reinvestment costs to replace that hardware - Cloud relieves them of that headache, moving Capex to Opex.  Other users want to focus on their core business of payments processing; they do not want to be distracted from the low-value matter of managing their

own hardware or datacenter. Others are choosing by virtue of their company policy to outsource anything that does not differentiate their business from another.

So take a closer look at OmniCloudX

   OmniCloudX for Issuing and Acquiring

Streamlined Issuing for real and virtual cards with OmniCloudX

OmniCloudX for all international card schemes

   Accelerate deployment with OmniCloudX

Cost effective licensing and deployment with OmniCloudX

You can learn more about OmniPayments by following us on all good social media platforms including LinkedIn and Twitter, and of course visit us at omnipayments.com. Or Email us 24x7 at sales@omnipayments.com

TANDsoft’s FS Compare and Repair Compares a 1 TB File in Just 10 Minutes

Talk about a blazing fast solution.  TANDsoft’s new FS Compare and Repair is the most rapid compare/repair product for use in the HPE NonStop environment. Based on block-compare technology, it identifies, reports, and resolves inconsistencies in live and offline databases. FS Compare and Repair reads blocks instead of records, compares block hashes instead of records, and works on partitions in parallel. The result?  A 1 terabyte multi-partitioned file will take just 10 minutes to compare with FS Compare and Repair.  It works with all NonStop data replication products.

Yet another new solution from TANDsoft is FS Backup and Restore. It reduces to minutes backup times that formerly took hours.  Rather than archive whole files to disk, tape or virtual tape, FS Backup detects file data-block modifications and archives only the changes. FS Restore then retrieves the saved file data-block modifications and applies the changes to rebuild the original file. FS Backup and Restore complements the HPE NonStop Backup and Restore utilities as well as all third-party storage solutions.

Both FS Compare and Repair and FS Backup and Restore require zero application modifications. They are easy to install, easy to use, and are certified on all HPE NonStop servers.

Learn more about FS Compare and Repair, FS Backup and Restore, and other TANDsoft solutions at the upcoming NonStop Technical Boot Camp, a virtual experience taking place from November 16th thru 18th.  TANDsoft is a silver sponsor of this global event, which offers free registration to attendees. Sign up at https://www.nonstoptbc.com

The Rise of Shelfware Software and How to Make It Stop

Businesses are managing more data than ever—and spending more money, year after year, to protect that data. Yet spending more money on security doesn’t equate to actually being secure. A significant amount of software is purchased and never property implemented - leading to a problem called “shelfware”.

To put into context how prevalent the “shelfware” problem has become, Gartner predicts by 2022, the global information security spending will exceed USD 170 billion. Additional research shows that nearly 30% of all security investments are underutilized or never implemented. That's over $51 billion. Most of that spend is driven by financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.

In contrast, cybersecurity damage is expected to exceed $6 trillion by 2022. The COVID pandemic is also putting a strain on everyone's budgets. CEOs, CIOs, and CISOs are looking at cutting costs where possible, so we're forced to do more with less.

We don’t have the luxury to let cybersecurity software sit around. Evaluating software usage and maximizing its effectiveness can be a strategic method of cost-cutting. A properly implemented solution will address your business requirements and free up your resources to focus on higher priority tasks
