Gravic Releases New Video on Shadowbase Data and Application Integration

Shadowbase Data and Application Integration software easily connects existing applications and databases to new applications and databases in real-time.

Data Integration uses data replication to update target databases in real-time to build online data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores, and more.

Application Integration uses data replication to feed key database changes to downstream applications without requiring application code changes to build event-driven architectures for real-time business intelligence environments, real-time fraud detection systems, and real-time analytical processing solutions.

Gravic Publishes New White Paper on HPE Shadowbase Compare

Gravic recently published the white paper, HPE Shadowbase Compare – Validate that a Source and Target Database Match.

HPE Shadowbase Compare validates that two HPE NonStop databases match, and highlights any differences found by creating a summary or detailed report.

Shadowbase Compare works with: SQL/MP, SQL/MX, Enscribe, and OSS Regular files, and is recommended for every NonStop business continuity environment to be absolutely certain that a replication environment is running correctly.

It proves that the source and target database copies are consistent and helps satisfy regulatory and audit requirements for data verification. The paper also includes the results of our webinar survey, “To Compare or Not to Compare,” taken with participants from various enterprises.

Gravic Announces Eight New Use Cases

Gravic added eight exciting new use cases to its website. They cover a range of topics including: four on Zero Downtime Migrations, and one each on Shadowbase Utilities, Compare and Repair Data, Business Continuity, and Application Integration.  XYPRO Technology Corporation

 Leading Global Bank Modernizes HPE

NonStop Security with XYGATE

Multi-Factor Authentication

Background

Before utilizing XYPRO software solutions and services, one prominent bank depended on non-standard, less secure processes for logging onto their HPE NonStop systems and applications. Relying on a single set of credentials that was managed separately from their corporate Active Directory was both difficult to integrate with enterprise infrastructure and gave poor user experience. It was not part of the mobile app their users were accustomed to and carried high support costs because dedicated technical staff was needed to manage and reset user accounts and passwords. Integration with XYGATE User Authentication (XUA) was put in place and has continued to work successfully since implementation. As security systems of the organization became upgraded, a modernized authentication method was required. For this, XYGATE User Authentication multi-factor authentication was implemented for all users to reduce risk, increase overall security and enhance their user experience all while lowering operational costs.

The Challenge

As one of the largest banks in their region, it is critical to have the most robust cyber security solutions in place to protect mission critical systems and applications as well as customer data. A solution was needed that would integrate their HPE NonStop servers and applications with their corporate Active Directory, provide strong authentication based on industry standards, simplify the user experience through their mobile app and deliver a low total cost of ownership.

The Solution

After evaluating various solutions available in the market, the security team chose XYGATE User Authentication which addressed all of their requirements. XUA was quickly and easily deployed in their environment and is now protecting all HPE NonStop servers with required PCI DSS multi-factor authentication. When a user attempting to authenticate provides a password, a request is sent back to the user through the mobile app asking to allow the access. Once the user clicks allow, the request is granted and the user is logged on (similar to the behavior of all other applications within the company). Processing this request through the mobile app provides an additional authentication factor, reducing risk and ensuring PCI DSS compliance requirements are met.

“XYPRO simplified our user experience while reducing our risk and improving compliance.”

New Video on Accessing NonStop Databases and Payment Engines

Two things NonStop customers are always asking NuWave and TIC are "How can I access SQL databases?" and "How can I access payment engines on NonStop?" Learn how to do both in this new video recording of their latest webinar!

This REST services and HPE NonStop video from TIC and NuWave covers all of the exciting things the two companies presented at TBC. Phil Ly explains how REST is a natural fit for SQL, and Andrew Price presents NuWave's new bank demo, which shows how well REST works with payment applications.

Is your wallet going virtual ?

According to various sources, virtual payment cards are growing in popularity with consumers and businesses alike.

Why is this?  What’s so wrong with the traditional credit and debit card model that makes using

an embossed card number such a challenge?

It’s just safer.

Let’s consider business users.

According to recent reports, over 60% of companies using cards for purchasing were targets of payment fraud.  When payment information is shared between customer and suppliers, information can be changed, emails forged, information intercepted, so that it becomes much to easier to pay funds to a fraudulent recipient.  Virtual cards create a buffer between businesses because there is less that can be stolen.

A virtual card can be issued electronically and allowed to exist for a short period of time to allow the payment to go through.  Once the payment is completed, the unique card can be de-activated, and there is no card detail to be stolen.

Virtual cards simplify the challenge for the Card Payment Industry which spends an enormous amount of time and effort to disguise, tokenize, mask and hide card details.  We are starting to see card issuers provide cards with no embossed number on the front.  In many cases it’s typed flat on the back, but in some cases it resides only within the embedded chip.

It’s just as safe for Consumers too.

Virtual card numbers are already being delivered and used by users of the Apple Wallet and Google Pay, and other Mobile Wallet offerings, both public and closed loop.  Each time we consumers register a card into our Mobile Phone, the Card issuer invokes the token services of the card issuer who generates a secret card token number which is stored in the phone.  This tokenized number is only of use when the mobile device user chooses to spend money and is of little interest to a Fraudster who would be unable to use the token outside the secure element of the phone.

Consumers feel safer online

Consumers who so not wish to expose their personal line of credit or the full extent of their Debit Card & bank balance can use Virtual Prepaid Cards knowing that as soon as they have paid, there is little left to be exposed.

Why OmniPayments?

OmniPayments support the issue, delivery, acquiring and authorisation of Virtual cards.  Tokenization services underpin the secrecy and security of the Virtual card.  OmniPayment core services can provide instant issuance, it can control spending limits to match business and consumer constraints, and can be set to de-activate as soon as the cardholder requires it.

OmniPayments provides card processing support for Credit, Debit, Prepaid, physical and virtual cards on a robust platform available 24*7 for the modern world, integrating with all the world’s major card schemes.  OmniPayments operates both in the cloud for Payments-as-Service and on-premise for institutions who want their systems in-house.

Multi-Factor Authentication on Nonstop Made Easy

with CSP AUTHENTICATOR+™

Multi-factor authentication has become vital in ensuring secure access to systems. It provides superior safety measures over easily compromised single password methods and is also an important requirements to comply with regulations such as PCI 8.3 and GDPR.

Any remote user or non-console admin user that has access to the cardholder environment must include multi-factor authentication. From legacy Pathway applications to the latest RESTful interfaces, effective MFA must be provided for users and applications that have the potential to access sensitive data.

The new CSP Authenticator+™ supports both primary and secondary authentication for NonStop. It provides a  RESTful interface which supports multi-factor authenticated logins on NonStop systems. CSP Authenticator+ resides on the NonStop Platform and uses an OSS “bridge” to connect to the RESTful interface of the CSP Authenticator+ web server.

CSP Authenticator+™ Dashboard

Primary authentication methods such as RADIUS, RSA Cloud, Active Directory, Oracle ID Manager and Open LDAP are supported. User Rights Synchronization will make it easier than ever before to integrate a NonStop system into the Enterprise ID management platforms.
