Wrapping up 2019 with the NonStop Partners

Where are OmniPayments & Payments going in 2020?

Several trends are likely to become apparent in the new decade beginning in 2020. We see a number of new initiatives that are likely to emerge and some initiatives which are likely to continue to grow into the new decade.

Let’s start with Fraud. Despite all the measures that the banks are taking, Fraud continues to trouble the finance industry at a number of different levels. The Digital Transformation journey brings with it a growing number of ways for Fraudsters to target people using all sorts of undesirable methods. As consumers we possess all sorts of valuable assets; from Pensions to Payment Cards, Fraudsters are trying to find a way to separate us from our money. With the growth of eCommerce where the card is not physically present for PIN Authorisation at the POS, an increasingly number of transactions will test Fraud systems, and only the best fraud prevention strategies will keep Acquirers and Issuers free from these undesirables.

Realtime payments already with us in Europe and slowly gaining traction in the USA, will adapt to embrace the Request-to-Pay function, changing from a pure Push payment into a mechanism allowing payee to invoice clients direct to their phone and phone apps.  Given that payment collection is a fraught part of any business, this will enable to businesses to simplify the business of collections and hopefully reduce the quantity of bad accounts and non-payers.

Payments-as-a-Service or “Payment Facilitation” will continue its march into the payments business.  Retailers and Businesses are not interested in Regulation and Compliance, PCI-DSS and the like; they simply want to focus on their business of selling goods and services and so will increasingly adapt to payment services that reduce the friction, fraud, and simplify the settlement of payments, no matter what payment token the customer is using.  Cloud is already here for payments and its adoption will continue.

Open Banking and OpenAPIs in particular will continue to make their mark quietly but assuredly in the digital banking space. Banks will open up their services at the same time as raising the level of  their own game to become Bank Aggregators, offering lifestyle choices to todays modern mobile users.  Options will include instant financing, accounting, budgeting, insurance and other services to match what consumers need.

OmniCloudX from your friends at OmniPayments is an existing payments facilitation service which includes POS Payments, e-commerce payments, QR Codes, real-time Fraud Management, OpenAPIs with a modern micro-services oriented architecture.

OmniPayments features on LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social media. Visit us at OmniPayments.com

Wishing all our readers a Happy Christmas and Happy New Year for 2020.

Lusis Payments: High Performance 2019

Once again it was great to see everyone who attended the HPE NonStop Technical Bootcamp in San Francisco.  The buzz from last year about heightened levels of performance being achieved with the new NonStop X servers running the L-series operating systems has certainly carried over into many of this year’s discussions with Lusis.  As an HPE partner for many years, we routinely see customers benchmarking higher and higher performance numbers on the new HPE platforms while leveraging TANGO’s micro service architecture which lends itself to high efficiency performance results. These organizations have demanded a modern, open architecture with superior availability, scalability and data integrity as they look to the future. They've sought Lusis Payments for a proven migration scheme that guarantees smooth operations with gradual on-boarding to an upgraded system.

Over the past several years, Lusis and our TANGO platform has become the industry leader in replacing legacy applications like Base24, Postilion, and in-house developed solutions that are quickly becoming obsolete. 2019 has continued that trend as new clients have sought a solution that significantly reduces platform development time and costs while positioning them well for growth.

The TANGO Business Framework

TANGO is a mission-critical transaction processing system for acquiring, routing, switching, authenticating and authorizing across multiple channels including ATM, POS, eCommerce and Mobile.

As 2020 approaches we look forward to again meeting and collaborating with all our partners and clients from the NonStop community. Expect to see us present at major NonStop events as well as select regional events, as these events provide us with a great way to ensure we understand the changing needs of the NonStop community. For 2019, Lusis Payments has enjoyed a truly breakout year in North America and continues to expand globally. TANGO has really gained momentum in the payments arena during 2019. We’re seeing numerous institutions replace their legacy applications with TANGO. Like everyone we have talked to at events in 2019, the coming year is shaping up to be a major period of transformation and Lusis looks forward to continuing to be a significant role in many financial institutions’ migration plans.

We invite you to learn more about how TANGO can deliver the performance, availability and scalability to enhance your current payments environment. Lusis Payments is dedicated to providing the best technology solutions in the payments industry. Contact us to learn about our advancements in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, FX Trading, ISO 20022, Fraud and Blockchain.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Insider Technologies – Can Help you Achieve NonStop/X Cost Savings

It’s an exceptionally busy time in the NonStop world. Most of our customers have already presented their NonStop X budgets to their respective leadership teams, some of which have had formal approval and are expecting their shiny new kit to be delivered as early as January. This has a big knock on effect for NonStop application providers, as we scramble to present new term licences and transfer fees to move applications to NSX.

Whilst these are hay making days for HPE, spare a thought for the IT manager who has to go to battle with a fearsome budget committee and ask for a significant investment for the NonStop and all the bells and whistles that go with it.

I had many a NonStop product owner cry on my shoulder at the ETBC and TBC and even more call me with an outpouring of emotion around how tough it is in their world at the moment and what could I possibly do to help!?

When sizing up a significant purchase, I tell my clients the same thing. Don’t be prepared to negotiate with the vendor alone. Get yourself ready for internal negotiations as well. This is often the most difficult part of securing the budget that you need to get the solution you require. Knowing your numbers is one thing, being able to present cost reduction alternatives in other areas will give you significant credibility and bring those pesky procurement people on to your side.

There are many solutions when it comes to monitoring the NonStop and NonStop applications. The most expensive one is a fantastic product that’s almost unlimited in its capability to monitor everything across the NonStop estate and is beloved by NonStop Operations teams across the globe. Of course, to maintain and manage such a powerful tool comes at a cost. And it can be a significant one.

If you, like many organisations, are looking to simplify your internal process and to focus on monitoring the data that is critical to your business, there are other solutions that can deliver your monitoring SLA’s and put a big fat smile on the face of your Procurement Director.

Reflex is a dynamic Operations and Service Management product for the HPE NonStop arena used by the world’s most demanding organisations. Reflex’s unique design lies in its ability to pull together a massive amount of active monitoring into a single set of screen objects, providing the means to diagnose a problem object in more detail via context sensitive drill-down. Performance monitoring is included, supplying Dashboards for the Business, Technical and Operational communities.

With the RTLX module, you can also get real-time monitoring and querying of transaction flow information created by ACI BASE24, ATM & POS applications and other payment engines. Status screens and hypervisors display the information visually.

And in most cases, we can offer more than a 50% saving against existing competitor contracts.

If you depend on the myriad of modules that these products offer, which are engrained within, then we absolutely recommend you stick with your current monitoring strategy. If, however, you are looking to reduce complexity, improve efficiencies and reduce cost, then please get in touch!

Insider Technologies would like to wish all of our customers, partners and friends, a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous 2020.

TANDsoft Introduces Blazing Fast FS Backup & Restore

Innovative TANDsoft Inc. is at it again with a new product developed specifically for a customer problem overheard at Boot Camp. Introducing FS Backup & Restore. It addresses the needs of NonStop customers whose hours-long backups are creating troublesome challenges within their processing environments.

FS Backup & Restore is efficient and blazing fast. It sends only changed data blocks to the HPE Backup program, whose inputs normally are whole files from disk. The result? Backup times that formerly would take hours now are reduced to minutes.

Here’s an example. A company must perform daily backups to tape in order to satisfy industry regulations. Every day, whole files are backed up, including any changes or modifications made to the files. This may take hours, with additional time required if data growth takes place. However, with FS Backup & Restore, only the changed data blocks are backed up on following days. Backup times are reduced significantly, and the subsequent weekly and monthly tape backups require far less processing time.

FS Backup & Restore supports Guardian Enscribe, SQL/MP tables, and OSS files. It can be installed without the need for any application modifications.

In addition to the new FS Backup & Restore, TANDsoft’s solutions include the OPTA2000 virtual clock- and time-zone simulator; FileSync for automatic file synchronization, replication, and data deduplication; and Sensitive Data Intercept (SDI) for protecting and masking sensitive data-at-rest in Enscribe, SQL/MP, and SQL/MX databases. All are easy to install, easy to use, and are backed by exceptional support. They are certified on NonStop X, vNonStop, and all other NonStop servers.

Learn more about TANDsoft solutions at www.tandsoft.com, or call us at +1 (514) 695-2234. We are an HPE Silver partner.
