TANDsoft’s E-2-S 4.0 Enables Enscribe to SQL Migration

TANDsoft’s next generation E-2-S 4.0 enables Enscribe to SQL migration and is the most cost-efficient and secure solution for your applications. Taking advantage of our experience as interception specialists, E-2-S permits easy conversion of Enscribe calls to SQL/MP and SQL/MX statements. No changes to Enscribe applications are necessary.

E-2-S is a database gateway that migrates Enscribe application programs and files to NonStop SQL/MP and NonStop SQL/MX. While the Enscribe applications and files remain untouched, E-2-S executes static SQL statements instead of dynamic-compiled statements to access the SQL database. As a result, code executes much faster. With E-2-S, source SQL statements can be made available for customer use. Hybrid programs comprising mixes of Enscribe calls and SQL calls or a complete conversion to SQL offer further flexibility of use.

E-2-S 4.0 Features

- Supports static SQL/MP and SQL/MX statements
- Offers unlimited conversion flexibility
- Automatic data transformations (e.g., date fields)
- Supports native and non-native code in Guardian and OSS runtime environments
- Permits file-by-file incremental migration
- Allows application-by-application incremental migration
- Supports full Enscribe API
- No privileged code required
- Supports access to MP tables via SQL/MX aliases
- Utilizes equivalent static SQL statements to access the SQL database
- Available on all HPE NonStop servers
E-2-S Supports Your Migration Strategy

With E-2-S 4.0, It has never been easier or faster to move an application from Enscribe to SQL/MX or SQL/MP. Some customers are not prepared for a “big bang” migration, where all programs are migrated simultaneously. What often is required in that case is application recompiling and intensive QA testing, with a possible change in source code.

Instead, E-2-S offers the option to bind an Enscribe intercept to an application. Now the application will read and write from SQL tables instead of Enscribe, and the intercept can remain indefinitely. For many companies, this is the initial step of their migration strategies. Some customers decide not to spend any time and resources to change the application itself to SQL but focus instead on adding new applications and functionality using SQL instead of Enscribe. Or they can, as time allows, replace the Enscribe calls with SQL calls and migrate slowly to native SQL calls from the application.

Whatever migration strategy is chosen, select TANDsoft’s E-2-S 4.0. It is the most cost-efficient and secure solution for your applications.

TANDsoft introduced E-2-S 4.0 at the recent NonStop TBC 2021. Click here to view the TANDsoft presentation. For additional information, visit the TANDsoft website.

If you missed the HPE NonStop TBC event in October, or just missed seeing our presentations, then please click the links below to view our three sessions. We appreciate all of you who stopped by our virtual booth, read our materials, or watched our videos. Congratulations to Kim Katigbak (Pulse Network), Scott Weekley (TSYS), and Paul Leung (RBC) for winning our Amazon gift card prizes! We enjoyed discussing with you how the HPE Shadowbase product suite can provide solutions to your most pressing business issues for business continuity, data integration and synchronization, and application integration. We thank all of the Connect staff for putting on a great event that was well-attended and held without any technology issues.

NonStop Business Continuity Product Suite Update

Learn about recent HPE Shadowbase releases and new features to solve various enterprise challenges:

·        Business Continuity – maintain consistency and recoverability with active/passive, sizzling-hot-takeover, and active/active replication architectures

·        Data Integration and Synchronization – feed data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores

·        Application Integration – build real-time business intelligence systems for sales, fraud detection, and more

·        Zero Downtime Migration – eliminate planned application downtime, and minimize the risks associated with hardware and software changes

·        Compare and Repair – ensure audit compliance and validate that the standby/target database matches the source while working alongside any replication engine

New Data Integrity Architectures for Mission Critical Systems

The three pillars of mission critical computing are Reliability, Availability, and Scalability – “RAS” for short. Reliability encompasses data integrity, but receives much less attention in the industry than Availability or Scalability. However, it is just as important. Data integrity is a critical customer and regulatory concern, and is adversely affected by software bugs, hardware errors, malware, and many other common problems. We briefly review the three pillars, focusing on innovative new HPE NonStop Server architectures and technologies that maximize Reliability and data integrity, in addition to Availability and Scalability. We also review a case study on preventing election hacking with NonStop Servers that illustrates this new technology.

HPE Shadowbase Compare Solution Demonstration

Learn more about our data validation solutions, HPE Shadowbase Compare and Repair. Verification of replication software products for business continuity is critical and requires independent methods to ensure consistency between databases even while they are actively running.

Banco Estado delighted with OmniPayments implementation

OmniPayments welcomed Banco Estado’s offer to tell their customer side of the story at this years annual NonStop TBC event.  Banco Estado is Chile’s third largest bank with the most visible presence across the country.  It operates in every commune of the country across 3,000 kilometres from north to south even having a presence in Antartica.  Not only do they operate millions of bank accounts and cards, but they have also launched a widespread and nationwide Merchant Acquiring network by the name of ComprAqui (which roughly translates as “buy here”).

According to Luis Chavez of Banco Estado, the bank is clearly delighted with their engagement and partnership with OmniPayments.  In their own words, they made clear their delight with the high levels of availability they enjoy, the flexibility to cutover, settle, and their plan to pay their merchants *same day* using OmniPayments,

Banco Estado also benefit from the Cloud implementations that we call OmniCloudX, with sites across 2 states of the United States (Dallas and San Jose) bound together by OmniReplicator which effectively gives them a 100% uptime single system image for processing transactions.

Banco Estado also benefit from the routing flexibility of OmniSwitch, with OmniCompensation complementing the settlement function, so that all parties are correctly paid their due amounts.

Banco Estado were equally complimentary about the value of the BI component OmniDash, the business dashboards showing them in real time exactly what was taking place inside the switch with valuable and meaningful business data.  The bank can also see visually by what methods transactions are being authorised, EMV, Contactless, 3D Secure online, and even fall-back.  Integration is made easy with both JSON and ISO8583 protocols in use to support interaction with ComprAqui.

Banco Estado can see transaction approvals happening in real-time, they can see transaction decline rates also, plus they can also see if the internal fraud engine has successfully prevented a fraudulent transaction.  “All this is valuable information to us” said Luis.

The pandemic saw an increase of some 98% in digital transaction customer interaction with the bank.   OmniPayments they also were able to help the bank to open over 2000 new CajaVecinas or small neighbourhood bank branches where customers could transact face to face.

Banco Estado have also embraced QR Code technology to simplify and streamline the merchant/customer interaction, with the result that ComprAqui as a service is growing rapidly across the country.

The processing and switching of Card Payment transactions sits within a broader infrastructure to enable businesses to make the most of the valuable data that they process.  The monetisation of our behaviour as consumers is a growing trend amongst data providers.

It’s no longer enough to simply extract data at the end of the business day.  We need to share and feed the aggregation of data on Business Intelligence (BI) platforms so that business users can not only see the broader picture of what is going on in their business, but also to market this aggregated data to others.

Businesses deploy a wide range of enterprise database infrastructure from Oracle, Teradata and Hadoop, together with Machine Learning engines like Kafka where clients need an event streaming platform for messaging, storage, processing, and integration at scale in real-time with zero downtime and zero data loss.

OmniPayments will be introducing the innovative adapters that we launching to meet such needs.

Meanwhile the core competences of a payment switch are still important and valid whether on-premise or in the cloud based on the OmniPayments OmniCloudX solution.  Consumers want choice of payment options and OmniPayments is delivering it through its cloud-based solution.  Merchants who want to expand their payment choices can now deploy flexibly with OmniPayments.

OmniPayments offers the dynamism of a true real time card processing system, one that can both create a virtual card record entry in real time, capture enough of the customer’s details and associate that purchase with that same card record, and be ready to generate communication with the clients to remind of the due payment and options for payment.

OmniPayments includes a wide choice of payments options to consumers while enabling Card Switching, Card Authorisation, Card Issuing, Transaction aggregation Loyalty, and Fraud Management Portfolio.  We also help organisations to modernise their own existing switches.

For more information on how we can help you integrate OmniPayments into your internet payment gateway, please see our illuminating YouTube videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHioqS1ZXOA), follow us on Twitter “@omnipayments”  or visit www.OmniPayments.com for further information.
